Today I made Meyer Lemon Curd and  Picau ar y Maen (Welsh Cakes)

Both turned out divinely delicious, such a relief after the dual fudge fiasco's.

Tried the oldfashioned fudge recipe today.
Another failure-this time I ended up with chewy chocolate caramel. While delicious it is NOT fudge and fudge is what I want. Yesterday too soft, today too hard.......

Giving up and going to See's tomorrow. No store sells fudge here. You can get fancy choc truffles everywhere but not fudge. bah humbug!

I made the fudge today, it smelled SOOOOO GOOD!!!!  Sadly, it did not set.... :-(
so I have a pan full of chocolate fudge nut sauce....sigh.........

I will try another recipe tomorrow, very disappointed as we were REALLY looking forward to chowing down on it. Can't chow down on fudge sauce....

Got ANOTHER 1.5lbs of meyer lemons today in my produce box. YIKES! I have almost 3lbs in my fridge....will be making lemon curd this week for sure.

Rained here off and on all day, I really wish it had been snow. Would love to have a bit and take some of the stress off all the other cities that are getting buried in it.

Back to photo resizing and website updating.

Positive post.
That last one was blech, so heres a better one.

Rob got us a Wii for Xmas. He set it up on Monday and we've been slowly playing with it. I did spend 1+ hours on my "crazy monkeys", I got a good spider monkey named Sweetpea, then adopted a golden capuchin whom I named Bette. Yes, she is a BAD monkey!!! lordy LOL  Last night Rob was checking out the boxing game. I said "oh let me try the next round"..Well, i knocked my opponet out in the first round within 10 seconds LOL. I am the CHAMPION!!! LOL Rob said he did not want to get into a boxing match with me. I tried the Hula hoop game and that was fun too. I like you use your whole body for alot of these games rather than just sitting wearing out your thumbs.

Also, I got 8 meyer lemons in my last shipments of produce. I think I'll make some Lemon Drop cookies with them.  I gained a ton of weight since getting back from Wales by falling back on processed food, crackers, snickerdoodles, bagels, etc.... I'm going to enjoy not so good eating until Jan 1, when I go back to normal aka healthy eating 6 days a week, with only one day of bad food if I want. I really crave the healthy stuff when I eat too much crap for too long. Yesterday I had quinoa, acorn squash and greens for dinner. And an organic apple crumble I made for dessert.

I also want to make some fudge-anyone got a good recipe? I haven't made it in forever and been craving it for a year now...I need to get off my duff and make some! I got ingrediants to make a Red Devil Cake for Xmas too. Get my fix before the new year!

I sent off the last of my holiday cards today-if I have your address you are probably getting a card from me. I think I sent about 50 cards. If I don't have your addy, I'm sorry! We need to rectify that situation! I'm starting to send out postcards every now and then. We never get 'real' mail anymore, only bills and junk mail. I thought it would be nice to randomly pic someone, pick a postcard and send it off with a "think of you" message. Who wouldn't like to get a little suprise love note?

In order to try and get more exposure for my jewelry, I've opened another Etsy shop.
www.saintsandsinnersart.etsy.com Please have a look and heart me!  I'm keeping the other for sales and destash stuff-I think the better jewelry got lost in the 2nds and sale items.

I'm done with the show stuff! I spend the day tagging/pricing stuff and its all done-go me!!!! YAY!! even though I'm having a fibro day and going in super slo motion,  need to pull the risers out from under the bed, and repack the box so its easier to carry. I'll do that tomorrrow as well as make sure I have everythingand thats it. I seriously can not WAIT until its all done with and I can start my Xmas shopping (yes I know SUPER late!)

Since I've started seeing this everywhere, and the RAK wishlist group is dead, I'm posting this here.

Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ.

Step Two

- Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - (Marianne notes: shelter dogs and rescues are really the way to go, though) do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

  1.  Trip back to the UK or Virgin Air miles!
  2. 1/2" metal letter/number stamps or any decorative metal stamps
  3.  more jewelry tools - burnisher, calipers, good pliers (since I break them all the time) anvil, forming blocks, large daps, etc...
  4.  more broken vintage jewelry castoffs-charms, chains, pendants, lockets single earrings, etc....
  5.  little Shadow boxes or ornate frames
  6.  little weird things to put in boxes/shrines/artwork-especially tiny seahorses, decorative wood/metal trims, weird tiny doll stuff, etc.
  7. vintage handwriting-letters, postcards, ledger paper
  8. Frederick Fekkai Glossing shampoo, conditioner and creme
  9. New rockabilly music to listen too. Most of my stuff is old!
  10. the occasional letter or postcard 'just because"
